Single/Dual Link Input Problems

io chipConnecting single and dual link inputs incorrectly can cause odd looking signals.  Here are each of the incorrect paths shown as they would be with a standard SMPTE bars input.

 

For all the images below, the setup is [test generator] -> [drastic ddr]

 

Generator is Single Link 4:2:2 YCbCr

SingleToSingle
This is a correct single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) to single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) capture

 

Single to Half Dual
This is a single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) output into the A side of a dual link (4:4:4 RGB) input

 

Double Single To Dual
This is a single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) output into the A and B sides of a dual link (4:4:4 RGB) input

 

Generator is Dual Link 4:4:4 RGB

Dual To Dual A ONLY
This is a dual link (4:4:4 RGB) to dual link with only the A cable connected

 

Dual To Dual Inverted
This is a dual link (4:4:4 RGB) to dual link with the A and B links inverted

 

Dual A To Single
This is the B side of a dual link (4:2:2 RGB) connected to the single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) input configured as single link

 

Dual B To Single
This is the A side of a dual link (4:2:2 RGB) connected to the single link (4:2:2 YCbCr) input configured as single link
